Abstract
Objective: Measuring knowledge management maturity allows organizations to evaluate their knowledge management practices. The present research aimed to assess the knowledge management maturity level in the Research and Self-Sufficiency Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army Ground Forces, employing the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) model and a quantitative approach to analyze the data.
Methodology: In terms of research method and approach, this research is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach, which describes and explains the current state of knowledge management in the studied organization. Data were collected through the standardized APO model questionnaire in a real-world setting. The statistical population of this research consists of 80 managers, experts, and elites working in the Research and Self-Sufficiency Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army Ground Forces.
Findings and Conclusion: The results showed that the studied organization is at the "Beginning" stage of knowledge management maturity. This level indicates the initial understanding of the need for knowledge management and efforts to implement it in the organization. Among the seven dimensions of the APO model, the "Knowledge Processes" and "Knowledge Management Leadership" dimensions were identified as strengths, while the "Employee Status" and "Technology" dimensions were identified as weaknesses of the organization. To advance to higher levels of knowledge management maturity, the organization should implement programs to improve employee status and utilize appropriate technologies.
