Objective: Imam Ali, in Nahj al-Balagha, emphasizes the necessity of commanders providing maximum support to the military personnel under their command. Accordingly, the Commander-in-Chief has placed special emphasis on improving the livelihood of military personnel. Therefore, the aim of this study was to examine and explain a model for enhancing the livelihood of military personnel in military organizations based on his statements.
Methodology: This applied qualitative study used an exploratory approach. Data were collected through document analysis of the Commander-in-Chief’s statements and military organizational documents and analyzed using Grounded Theory (open, axial, and selective coding). Trustworthiness was ensured through Guba and Lincoln’s criteria and member checking.
Findings: he main causes of livelihood challenges include inflation, declining purchasing power, managerial inefficiency, foreign sanctions, cognitive warfare, and psychological operations. Neglecting these issues may increase social inequality, dissatisfaction, insecurity, and hopelessness.
Originality: Based on the statements of the Commander-in-Chief, five principal strategies for improving the livelihood of military personnel were identified: managerial commitment grounded in a jihadist spirit and revolutionary responsibility; meeting the essential needs of personnel and their families; strengthening religious beliefs; promoting cultural development and reforming lifestyle; and creating psychological and emotional well-being among personnel. Implementing these strategies can enhance welfare, improve the quality of service, and strengthen national security.
