Objective: University Course Timetabling is a complex and challenging task in educational management. Despite its significance, limited research has been conducted on course timetabling in military academies. Given the unique characteristics and requirements of these institutions, the need for a thorough investigation into this topic is evident. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive review and analysis of existing research on University Course Timetabling, with a particular focus on military academies. The goal is to identify research gaps and specific needs of these institutions.
Methodology: This research employed a systematic review methodology, utilizing specific keywords in reputable databases. Qualitative data from studies conducted between 2009 and 2023 were examined, and relevant articles were extracted and analyzed to identify weaknesses and shortcomings in the existing research.
Findings: The results indicate that previous research has not adequately addressed the issue of University Course Timetabling in military academies. Moreover, the appropriate allocation of equipment related to military university classes and optimal classroom management for commanders have not been considered in these studies.
Originality: The present study reveals that military academies require specific scheduling models tailored to their unique conditions and requirements. Therefore, it is recommended that future research focus on developing these models.
