Military expenditures is one of the most important and influential factors on macroeconomic variables, especially economic growth. Because it is possible to increase security and economic stability with the increase in military expenditures and lead to an increase in domestic and foreign investments, which will increase employment, GDP and economic growth.On the other hand, an unconventional increase in military expenditures may lead to restrictions on financial resources, thus reducing economic growth.
Leading research examines the impact of military expenditures and government consumption expenditures on the economic growth of countries by using data from 73 countries of the world for the period of 1980-2020, using the regression analysis technique of consolidated data (panel data ) Paid. By performing data normality test, the unit root test to determine the reliability and heteroscedasticity tast, it was found that government consumption expenditures are determined by first-order differentiation. Also, to select the appropriate model, Limer's F test and Hausman test were used, and the panel model with fixed effects was selected and used. The findings of the research show that government military expenditures as a percentage of GDP has a positive and significant effect on the economic growth of countries, and government consumption expenditures as a percentage of GDP has a significant negative effect on the economic growth of countries.
